Some innovations are difficult to see. Not because they are invisible, but because they exist at the heart of complex industrial processes. That was precisely the challenge behind this project with Optima Aero: making the environmental impact of reusing aeronautical parts tangible.
Committed to advancing a circular economy in aviation, Optima Aero set out to demonstrate, with data to support it, how putting existing components back into service can significantly reduce the emissions associated with manufacturing new parts. The project therefore aims to quantify these environmental benefits by comparing the carbon footprint of initial production with that generated through repair, transportation, and the reintroduction of components into circulation.
To translate this scientific approach into a clear and accessible narrative, Studio Kay supported Optima Aero throughout the creative process. Our motion design team in Montreal led the artistic direction of the project, developed the storyboards, handled voice casting and recording, and produced the animations.
The challenge was twofold: preserving the rigor of the data while creating a visual narrative capable of capturing attention. The result is a piece of content that makes a technical subject understandable while highlighting the strategic value of reuse within the aerospace industry. A collaboration where Optima Aero’s industrial expertise meets the power of visual storytelling.
