Renaud Robert

Renaud Robert grew up between Switzerland and Quebec, a childhood shaped by a rich cultural bubble, formed through travel, which allowed him to develop multiple ways of seeing, feeling, and storytelling. From an early age, he showed curiosity, a keen attention to detail, and a sensitivity to emotion. Music first, then photography, and finally cinema became his languages, tools for translating an inner vision and sharing it with the world. His path took shape far from conventional trajectories. After studying engineering, he answered a deeper calling: artistic creation. He returned to graduate studies to dedicate himself to his true vocation, the image. His engineering background became a creative asset, fueling his appetite for experimentation and enabling him to design unique technical setups, often invisible on screen yet essential to the staging of his ideas. From photography assistant to photographer, then Director of Photography and Director, he honed his craft alongside renowned names and now collaborates on major productions across Quebec, Canada, and internationally. Alongside his commercial work, Renaud nurtures a free and instinctive artistic practice, where exploration takes precedence over outcome. It is in this space that his eye sharpens, his visual signature crystallizes, and narrative forms emerge that influence the whole of his work. Over his 11-year career, he has directed campaigns for brands including St-Hubert, Indigo, Newlook, Groupe Marcelle, Nespresso, The Fork, La Vie en Rose, Chaussures Yellow, Air Canada, and Oikos. Driven by a pursuit of the sublime, he is distinguished by his ability to transform complex ideas into powerful, sensitive, and memorable images, with technical mastery always in service of emotion.
